How do I go about producing a newsletter and large email mailings to my customers? 1. Collect your emails and home addresses from customers 2. Choose your target market - buy a list 3. Choose a company to handle bulk commercial emailing 4. Design a newletter that best represents your company If you are going to do email newsletters, then it is important to start recording and saving emails you get from customers, potential customers and of course the viewers off of the web site when they submit a form. The easiest way is to record them on an excel spread sheet. One column for their name, and another with their email. Home mailing lists are easier to come by, because you can buy lists according to your needs. i.e. by location, by household income, by number of adults vs. kids in the home etc. So you can really tailer the list to the market you are targeting. You are also not limited to the number of people you have rounded up - as with the email crowd. I would suggest you begin archiving your addresses so you will be have a crowd to send emails to. There are companies that handle mass emailing. You pay a small fee and they provide the account that we manage to actually send out the letters. This is the fancy way of doing things. It is also the professional way of doing it. It gives credibility to you as the business and allows the recipient to stop receiving the email if they are not interested. If you send out mass emails from a personal account, sometimes yahoo or hotmail (whichever company you use) will put a hold on your account as they do not want to be associated with junk mail. So, that can be risky, its best to stick with the professional route.
